Hi, I'm Ashley - I am a co-founder of the Balanced Wellness Collective and the lead clinician of my private practice, Balanced Being Therapy.
If you are new to therapy, I understand that getting started can feel overwhelming - meeting someone new, opening up, talking about difficult topics, experiencing emotions; it's a lot! This is why I make it a priority to ensure your comfort with the process. I value a client-centered approach, empowering you to feel in control of your therapeutic journey while providing you with support, guidance, and authenticity. I strive to create a space where it feels safe to be real!
Drawing from modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), emotion-focused therapy, inner child work, attachment based therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy; I aim to provide relevant therapeutic insight that will support your growth, healing, and align with your personal goals.
At the Balanced Wellness Collective, we bring together various private practice clincians and wellness professionals who share a similar perspective on the therapeutic journey and how to best support our clients and our community. You can learn more about the services of the collective by contacting us here!
Gus is Ashley's yorkshire terrier and therapy sidekick. Although he is often asleep on the job, Gus likes to greet everyone who comes into the clinic with a wagging tail and maybe a few wet kisses. He is still a puppy and is learning the ropes of what it means to be an emotional support dog but we think he shows great promise!
If you are uncomfortable with dogs, Gus does not take offense! Just let Ashley know and he can sit out your session.
After a 10-year career in the federal public service, Marin chose to pursue her dream of becoming a counsellor and is now completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Born and raised in Fredericton, Marin has a keen desire to support children and youth in her community struggling with difficult life transitions, worry, stress, coping skills, emotion regulation, resilience, relationship issues, self-esteem, blended family dynamics, and more.
Marin’s therapeutic views are heavily influenced by humanistic and strength-based approaches, but she favours an integrative and holistic approach which pulls concepts from Emotional Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Dialectical Behaviour therapy, Cognitive therapy, and Internal Family Systems therapy. Marin hopes to use a blended approach that will feel the most meaningful and rewarding for each client’s unique experience. Marin believes that connection, vulnerability, self-discovery, and speaking your truth are the foundation to feeling empowered and living a fulfilling and purposeful life.
In an effort to increase accessibility to therapy, we are pleased to offer Marin's services at a reduced rate. Marin will be ready to see clients starting in late September, contact us now to be added to her waitlist!
